A source close to the Israeli Foreign Ministry has disclosed that the eagerly anticipated Negev Summit will convene at the end of this month in the Kingdom of Morocco,

In an exclusive statement to the Hespress, the source said Israel, Morocco, and the United States have collectively agreed on this official and definitive date for the highly significant Negev Summit 2.

The Moroccan Ministry of Foreign Affairs is expected to make an official announcement regarding the summit in the near future.


The source did not confirm whether the second Negev summit would be held specifically in the Moroccan city of Dakhla.

Additionally, the source dismissed speculations surrounding the participation of an African country with a Muslim majority in the summit. The source emphasized that such information is currently unavailable and can be excluded from the discussion at this time.

The source did not clarify if plans to change the name for the Negev Forum are still in place, as the Arab members previously sought to select a title that is less closely associated with the Jewish state, as revealed by an official speaking to The Times of Israel.

The Negev Forum emerged from the inaugural Negev Summit held in March, initiated by former Foreign Minister Yair Lapid. This groundbreaking summit brought together foreign ministers from Egypt, the first Arab state to establish peace with Israel, along with the United States, the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, and Morocco, who normalized relations under the Abraham Accords in 2020.

The US recently conveyed the Arab members’ request for a more generic name for the forum, prompting Israel to consider the change. The forum currently consists of six working groups, which were agreed upon during the initial summit.

This high-level meeting is expected to encompass crucial discussions on regional cooperation, economic partnerships, and shared strategic interests.
